The BUILD Program summarized for academics

Summary: What’s in this for you?

If your program partners with the BUILD program you will be creating a workforce with both a strong academic foundation and a deep participatory understanding how engineering is practiced. Your students will know how to do things. How to design. How to manufacture. How to apply and realize.

The BUILD Program was conceived to enhance undergraduate engineering programs. Originally named The Hands-on Team-oriented Engineering Building Undergraduate Interdisciplinary Learning Departments (THE BUILD), The BUILD Program is a  pragmatic philosophy of modernizing and accelerating engineering education by blending hands on experience with rigorous academic foundations guided by passionate mentors.

The BUILD Program philosophy is dynamic and can be adapted to any educational level where accelerating technical competency, capability, and creativity is mission critical.  It has been successfully refined and applied for about a decade in government labs and college campuses.  We look to expand the reach of the Build Program philosophy to additional college campuses, K-12 STEM programs, and even internationally through efforts like Build Program Panama.  We need your support!!

Here is our University requirements and application process.

As the program evolved, we realized the name had to reflect this broader mission. Read about the history of the name.
